Jaffly Chen

Strategy Consultant. Angel Investor. Medical Doctor.

Hello!

Jaffly initially trained as a medical doctor, but sensing an opportunity to tackle problems in different industries and geographies, he transitioned to the management consulting world.

In his young career, Jaffly has served on and led a number of national committees tackling student advocacy and professional interests. Furthermore, Jaffly has been the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards for academic merit, community service, and leadership potential. As an impassioned innovator, he has most recently won 2 national awards at Australia’s largest hackathon (GovHack) and was accepted into both the ASES Stanford Entrepreneurs Summit and the MIT/Harvard Medical School Healthcare Innovation & Entrepreneurship Bootcamp. After medical school, Jaffly also graduated with Masters degrees in Public Health & Health Management (MPH/MHM UNSW, Westpac Scholar), and Global Affairs (MMSc, Tsinghua University, Schwarzman Scholar).

Prior to starting his current role as a management consultant, Jaffly was a medical doctor on the COVID-19 front lines. Jaffly has interned at the World Health Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland with the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research. He has also previously interned in Federal Parliament and worked with several healthcare start-ups as an advisor and mentor.

Although no longer working full-time in medicine, Jaffly retains subject matter expertise and has been engaged on several healthcare due diligences for the Bain & Company Private Equity practice. Whilst early in his Angel investing journey, Jaffly has already achieved one exit. He eagerly offers his subject matter expertise, networks, and strategy skillset to up-and-coming early-stage companies with the view to build, and learn, together.
